Holy Week, called Samana Santa here, is celebrated all over the world. The population of Costa Rica is predominantly Roman Catholic so the Holy Week is one of the largest celebrations you’ll see in this beautiful country. Traditionally the Holy Week takes place during the last week of Lent and marks the final week of the life of Jesus Christ before his crucifixion on Good Friday and resurrection on Easter Sunday. During this week the Hotel Iguanazul is completely booked out. The hotel fills with guests, many of whom are from Costa Rica itself. Samana Santa is the perfect time to get away from work and enjoy a beach-side holiday with family and friends. If you’re lucky enough to be in Costa Rica during the holy week, drop in and see us! We’ll have lots of food and drink specials and you’ll get to socialize with people from all over the country. Costa Rican’s (or Tica’s as they call themselves) are very proud of their country. Come say hi.
